Born in Moscow, Valeri Oistrakh is the third generation of the famous musical family after his father Igor, and grandfather David who was his first teacher.
He gave his first public concerts at the age of fourteen, later studying with Zakhar Bron at the Central Moscow Conservatory and winning several international violin competitions.
Valeri has performed in many countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Scandanavia and much of Western Europe. He has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras such as the Moscow and St. Petersburg Philharmonics, Berlin Symphony, RSNO, Sydney Symphony and The European Chamber Orchestra alongside conductors Mazur, Rozdestvensy, Sondezkis and many others.
Valeri also plays regularly as a recitalist and in other chamber music. He leads the "Oistrakh Trio" and "Oistrakh Ensemble"; he also gives masterclasses at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and elsewhere.
